Support Group Gathered Together

Thank you for thinking of DBSA Greater Houston for your community needs!

Thanks to our generous donors we provide free weekly support groups, valued at more than $20,000 per year, to communities who are ready to talk about mental health.

Our groups have helped thousands of individuals in the Greater Houston area and we are happy to collaborate in serving our community.

DBSA Greater Houston provides several different types of support groups. Minimum requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • A confidential space (closed room) with up to 15 chairs available for weekly support groups.

  • A reliable contact liaison between DBSA Greater Houston and physical location of group.

  • Have at least 15 individuals interested in coming to a DBSA support group.

  • Willing to market the group within the community or organization.

  • Not within 5 miles of another support group (This applies to our public groups.)

If the community or organization meets the above requirements, please review the application process by clicking one of the following titles:

  • Middle or High School: The requester must be a mental health professional from the school to screen and provide referrals to the group. Must obtain appropriate consent documents. Students minimum age is 13.
  • Open Group: These groups are open to the public for anyone 18 years or older.
  • For an Organization: These groups are only for individuals served by the requesting organization.

If you meet the requirements, please submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) to DBSA Greater Houston by e-mail at dbsahouston@dbsahouston.org. A DBSA staff person will follow up within 7-10 business days.
